Payment Methods

At Stationery House, customer experience is really important to us. We understand that customers prefer to pay in many different ways, so we have developed a suite of payment methods to suit everyone's individual preference. We hope this makes it easier and simpler for customers wishing to purchase products from us.

Ways You Can Pay:

1. Direct on our website, using the checkout. 

At checkout, the payment options available include:

  • Direct Card Payment, such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Discover, JCB, Google Pay & Apple Pay
  • Payment via PayPal, using your registered PayPal account. Sign up for PayPal today at www.paypal.co.uk
  • Payment via Klarna, using your registered Klarna account. Sign up for Klarna today at www.klarna.com/uk 

2. Pay By Phone

For basket spends up to £100, you can pay securely over the telephone.

Please have to hand a list of the items you wish to order as well as:

  • Your contact details including delivery address, billing address (if different), email address and telephone number
  • A valid Credit or Debit card. We will ask you for your card details to process payment

Once your payment is processed, you will receive an order confirmation from us once your order is dispatched. You will be advised over the telephone if your payment has been authorised. 

General points for payment by phone:

  • Secure payment process. We do not write down or record your card details. Your card details are directly inputted into a card terminal, with payments processed and secured by Elavon on our behalf. We have no access to card information after payment has been processed. Elavon adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.   • The security of your data is important to us but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
  • Personal details such as address information and email addresses are securely retained in line with our privacy policy and GDPR requirements, our privacy policy can be found here
  • Your personal details including email are not used for marketing purposes. We make no contact with you except for anything directly related to your order, or enquiry. Your address, email and telephone number will be supplied to 3rd party courier companies for the purpose of successfully delivering your order to you, and by supplying us with this information it is on the understanding that this will happen. Should you require details of the delivery partner your details have been supplied to, please email support@shshop.co.uk or telephone us and we will gladly supply you with this information. Stationery House does not accept responsibility or liability for the legitimate handling of your personal data by 3rd party delivery partners and the methods by which your data is used and/or stored by them. 
  • Telephone payments have a limit of £100 only, to protect us against fraud. 
  • We cannot accept payment over the phone for orders which contain postage stamps or gift vouchers
  • Pay By Phone is operated at the discretion of Stationery House. We retain the right to refuse payments over the telephone without giving reason. 

3. Pay By Link

If you don't wish to disclose your card details over the telephone, and don't wish to use the website checkout, we can send you a payment link via email. This is an email from us which contains a link you can click to take you to a page where you can make a secure payment for your order. 

To do this, you can either telephone us on 01275 875002 (Monday- Saturday 8:30am to 5:30pm) with your order requirements, email address and delivery/billing address details. We will then send you an email with a payment link which when clicked will take you to a page that displays the total order value including postage and VAT for you to then make a payment with a valid Credit or Debit card. Once we have confirmed that your payment has been authorised you will be sent an order confirmation from us. 

General points for Pay By Link:

  • Secure payments. Payments made via a link sent by email are processed by our payment processing provider Stripe. For details about how Stripe process and secure your data, please see their privacy policy by clicking here

We strive to deliver the best, and most convenient experience and service for you. If you wish to quickly talk to a member of staff with a payment query or anything else you are having trouble with, we are on hand to help! 


  • By phone on (01275) 875002 (Monday-Saturday 8:30am to 5:30pm excluding Bank Holidays)- you will get straight through to a member of staff if the line is free. No annoying options, no 20 minute wait times. Providing we are not already talking to another customer you will get straight through to us.


  • By Live Chat- available Monday-Saturday from 9am to 9pm


  • By Email- support@shshop.co.uk (we aim to answer all emails within 4 hours maximum)
